A. Umstead is a powerhouse speaker, visionary project management consultant, and dedicated community builder who brings purpose and heart to every stage she steps on. As the CEO of Misstakenid Incorporated and founder of the Misstakenid Gives Back Foundation, Akeeya has build a brand rooted in empowerment, execution, and community impact.
Akeeya's speaking engagements merge strategic insight with human connection. She helps organizations, students, and changemakers strengthen collaboration, elevate leadership, and embrace innovation with intention.
But her journey is about more than strategy, it is also about soul. After the loss of her beloved mother, Cassandra W. Umstead, Akeeya turned her grief into a powerful force for good. Each year she honors her mother's birthday by feeding hundreds of people experiencing homelessness, an act of service that is now an annual community tradition and eventually a city wide recognized day of service. After the loss of her father she has honored his birthday with a cookout to support seniors and veterans that reside in a facility that he once lived. She also wrote a book, A Gentle Goodbye, to help with understanding the dying process for those that may have to work with hospice teams.
Through her speaking, Akeeya inspires others to tap into their own resilience, trust their process, and understand that success looks different for everyone. Her story is a testament to how pain can birth purpose, and how consistency, not perfection, creates change.
